Iman Vellani, the star of Ms. Marvel, was recently photographed cosplaying as Jubilee from the X-Men at Fan Expo Canada. Shared on X, Vellani attended the Toronto-based yearly fan convention while cosplaying as a comic book-accurate Jubilee. She was joined by fellow actor Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (Never Have I Ever), who was dressed as Donatello from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Vellani has already dazzled the Marvel community with her stunning cosplays. In 2022, the actor dressed as Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark for a Halloween party, while Yasmeen Fletcher, her Ms. Marvel co-star, went as Lego Iron Man.

In the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel, Vellani makes her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in 2022 as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel. The titular character, a 16-year-old Pakistani-American high school student, is followed on her quest to become a superhero after discovering an ancient heirloom that enables her to create potent constructs out of cosmic energy. The first season, which had six episodes, was released between June 8 and July 13, 2023. Sana Amanat, the show’s producer, urged fans to keep pushing for a second season at San Diego Comic-Con 2023 even though a second season of Ms. Marvel is not presently in the works at Marvel Studios. She said it is “great to see more demand.” The Marvels, a new movie, will mark Vellani’s second appearance in the MCU.A sequel to Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, WandaVision, and Secret Invasion, the next Phase 5 comic will have Kamala Khan meeting and collaborating with her hero, Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson). Mary Livanos, the film’s producer, recently disclosed how The Marvels would exploit this relationship to expose hero worship, stating how anybody may fall “into similar trappings when it comes to hero worship.” You believe that heroes can solve any issue. But in this film, we truly look at how sometimes, the choices you make in an effort to improve things may actually make them worse and have uncontrollable cascading effects.

The Marvels will present Captain Marvel “through the eyes of Ms. Marvel,” enabling viewers to “actually experience forgiveness through the eyes of another person,” according to Livanos. For someone who may not be able to forgive oneself, that can be liberating. The trio’s talents get entwined, forcing Carol, Kamala, and Monica Rambeau to work together in the forthcoming superhero sequel. Jubilee, a well-known X-Men member, will also soon be making a return to the big screen in X-Men ’97, the forthcoming animated revival of X-Men: The Animated Series. The X-Men: The Animated Series’ animated follow-up, which was announced in November 2021, would start up a few months after the events of the season finale “Graduation Day.” It’s anticipated that the 10-episode first season would air on Disney+ in late 2023 or early 2024.
