Rainbow Rowell, the author of She-Hulk, has spoken about her forthcoming book, Sensational She-Hulk, and how she plans to tackle the Bruce Banner/The Hulk crossover with the titular character. In an interview, Rowell recounted how Bruce Banner and Jennifer Walters crossed over, saying, “This was very amazing for us. When I was re-reading old She-Hulk comics, one thing that bothered me was how Jen always supported Bruce in his story, but he hardly ever appeared in her book, the author noted. “I am aware of the broader implications of it and how it relates to their own publication histories. But as a story, it’s still depressing. Jen has consoled Bruce’s family and stood up for him. She made some significant sacrifices for her relative, the speaker said. Rowell went on to explain what fans might anticipate from the crossover, for which she garnered an Eisner nomination for her work on a previous edition of She-Hulk. Therefore, we are quite appreciative to the Hulk team for allowing him to view our book. We made an effort to maximise it. What can we anticipate? I’d say mayhem, with a touch of sweetness,” the author added. Regarding what to anticipate from the series, Rowell said, “It’s a fun book with great characters, good jokes, and real emotional stakes.””If She-Hulk is already a favourite of yours, I want you to know that we too adore her. And we’re attempting to provide her with the tales she deserves. You probably haven’t read a She-Hulk comic if you don’t adore She-Hulk. Start with this one, said the author.

Rowell has discussed the implications of the word “Sensational” for her version of the Sensational She-Hulk. “For me, the word spectacular makes me think of John Byrne’s run on the original spectacular She-Hulk. The character-first approach of that novel, with Jen front and centre and shining, the star of the show, has undoubtedly influenced us, she pondered. “I believe that Sensational She-Hulk’s vibe—the sense that everything is possible—has also served as inspiration for us. In comparison to the last book, things grow a little crazier and wilder, according to Rowell. Sensational Andrés Genolet is now working on She-Hulk, and Rowell is quite anxious to work with him again. It was only a dream. I collaborated with Andrés on Runaways, and I’ll jump at the chance to do so again. I put a lot of emphasis on character dynamics, and Andrés is the master of face emotions. The writer gushed, “His characters live and change from panel to panel, and his lines are so lovely and clean.
