Tom Hiddleston, a veteran of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, talked about Loki’s new role in Season 2 as the God of Mischief finds a new home with the Time Variance Authority. Since Loki’s debut in the MCU, his objectives have always been driven by his egocentric aspirations. Fans are accustomed to seeing him betray those close to him, notably his brother Thor, because of this. However, Loki Season 2 promises to reveal a new side to fans as the God of Mischief suddenly assumes a more heroic role. When discussing Loki’s plot arc for the most recent season of the popular Disney+ series, Hiddleston said that his acts are no longer motivated by self-interest. He added that because of the individuals he now views as family, Loki is presently driven and determined to preserve reality and the TVA.

In the MCU, Loki has battled with family, but Hiddleston says that he has now found a new family in the TVA. “There is a new awareness and a capability to connect with other people in the collapse of knowing himself and having his concept of self opened up, broken down, and reconstructed by Mobius and his colleagues at the TVA. The winner of the Golden Globe also highlighted the intriguing distinction between Loki’s Season 2 narrative and the opening episode. “He’s a character who, as long as I’ve played him, has been searching for meaning,” said Hiddleston. “Season 2 is about accepting responsibility and attempting to find a new purpose, whereas Season 1 was about self-awareness and self-acceptance. Maybe this time, the objective carries more weight and less glory.

In Loki Season 2, Hiddleston will take part in yet another time-traveling journey as he deals with the catastrophic repercussions of Sylvie’s decision to kill off He Who Remains in the Season 1 finale. Along with Jonathan Majors as Victor Timely, returning cast members Tara Strong as the voice of Miss Minutes, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Hunter B-15, Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, Owen Wilson as Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, and Tara Strong as the voice of Mobius join Hiddleston. Kevin Wright, the show’s executive producer, indicated that Majors’ significant involvement in Season 2 was not impacted by the actor’s continuing legal issues because his sequences had already been shot before the scandal.

Rafael Casal from Blindspotting will play Hunter X-5, Kate Dickie from Game of Thrones will play General Dox, Liz Carr from Good Omens will play Judge Gambie, and Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan will play Ouroboros or O.B. The latter is regarded as a peculiar TVA employee who works in the department of repairs and advancement. Quan’s performance was lauded by Wright as being “very organic and natural,” which made O.B. a perfect complement to the interplay between Loki and Mobius. Coming in and trying to find your place between Tom and Owen, who have recently created this incredible friendship and collaboration, can be very scary, in my opinion, Wright added. “Ke simply effortlessly inserted this additional component that seemed to belong there from the beginning.
