The Marvel Cinematic Universe will be rebooted with the release of the next film Avengers: Secret Wars, according to Joanna Robinson, the author of the new Marvel book MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios. According to Robinson, we have a remark from Kevin Feige that sort of implies Secret Wars will act as a soft reboot where they can cut everything. Not to use a Loki-ism, but… They’ll eliminate whatever that isn’t functioning and just keep what is, or they’ll bring back someone you though had passed away forever. It should be noted that MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios contains a sentence that alludes to a soft reboot for the MCU at the book’s conclusion. This is what it says: Feige had to learn several things from the comics, including the necessity to relaunch superheroes on occasion, how to prevent variations and spinoffs from getting out of hand, and how a yearly mega-crossover event might bring a disjointed line of characters together.
It has been suggested previously that Avengers: Secret Wars will mark the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as fans now know it. Secret Wars will serve as “the send-off to not only the current MCU, but to all the Marvel movies that came before Iron Man,” according to reliable insider CanWeGetSomeToast. The ultimate soft reset is taking place. The scooper then predicted that Feige will draw ideas for the upcoming MCU season from the “All New, All Different Marvel” period. Between 2015 and 2019, Marvel’s selection of comic books published after the Secret Wars crossover storyline in 2015–16 were branded with the ANADM moniker.
Iron Man’s 2008 release served as the MCU’s official debut. The shared world has expanded since then to include 32 films and almost as many television episodes. Feige said that despite the MCU’s age, “it feels like we’ve barely scratched the surface.” The nice thing about Marvel, he said, is how many amazing, fascinating characters we have in the comics because they’ve been working on them for 85 years. The rights to some of the most well-known Marvel Comics characters, like Spider-Man and the X-Men, were not acquired for the MCU. A deal between Marvel and Sony saw them co-developing a new Spider-Man film trilogy, and Spider-Man eventually entered the MCU in Captain America: Civil War. Following Disney’s 2019 acquisition of 20th Century Fox, which returned Marvel Studios the rights to the mutants and Marvel’s First Family, the X-Men and the Fantastic Four are also expected to feature in the MCU.
