Monica Rambeau as Captain Marvel and Kamala Khan as Miss Marvel will be with Carol Danvers when The Marvels opens in theatres on November 10. Director Nia DaCosta discussed the meaning of the epic superhero team-up and the value of Captain Marvel having people she can rely on in an interview. “I felt it was crucial that we take care of her,” DaCosta remarked. “You kind of see how she’s alienated herself from family in this movie, which is a continuation of the lovely story that you saw in the previous one about her lost family. However, family is crucial to everyone’s ability to succeed, feel encouraged, and believe that they can take on the world. That was something I truly wanted to show in this movie, along with who she was.” Memory loss was the cause of Carol Danvers’ complex familial problems, as Captain Marvel from 2019 depicted. As a member of the Kree Starforce, Danvers resides on the planet Hala at the start of the movie. She doesn’t begin to regain memories of her life on Earth, particularly those of her family, until much later in the film. When she ultimately discovers that the Kree have been concealing and manipulating her actual origins, Danvers begins to doubt her commitment to the extraterrestrial species.
In keeping with the family-friendly vibe, an extended foreign trailer for The Marvels include footage of the aftermath from the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel’s post-credits sequence. Danvers is seen making her way downstairs, where she encounters the Khans. Following a brief, irrelevant action scene, Kamala goes home to her irate parents. “Captain Marvel is walking up and down our living, and now you come back, waltzing in with no apology,” adds her mother. The Marvels follow Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), who has sought revenge on the Supreme Intelligence and recovered her identity from the despotic Kree, according to the official synopsis. But due to unforeseen events, she is left to bear the weight of an unstable cosmos. Her talents become interwoven with those of Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) as her responsibilities take her to a wormhole connected to a Kree revolutionary.” The movie’s presales aren’t going as well as planned, with only a few days till release. The Marvels is expected to make less than $70 million, which would make it one of the least profitable opening weekends for a production from the Marvel Studios. DC releases Black Adam and The Flash, with debuts of $67 million and $55 million, respectively, are likewise the result of presales. The fact that The Marvels sold less tickets before to its premiere might be a poor indication, as those films are regarded as box office flops.
