Brad Winderbaum, the executive producer of Echo, asserts that Netflix’s Daredevil series is a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe canon as fans wait for the premiere of Daredevil: Born Again. Whether Born Again would stand alone without any link to the Netflix series, or if the events of Daredevil will become canon, was one of the topics covered by Wunderbaum in an interview.Winderbaum claims that Daredevil is a part of Marvel Studios’ fundamental narrative and that this will play a role in future Phase Five episodes like Echo. It’s true that we haven’t been quite clear on what constitutes sacred and non-sacred timelines up until now. That originated, to be honest, from a time in the studio when we felt that we had to stick the landing with the suppliers. It was a separate division of the business that developed the Netflix products. There was a lot to balance nonetheless, even if we and them both knew what we were doing “added the speaker. The producer went on, However, now that some time has gone and we can clearly see how seamlessly the stories are connected, Brad Winderbaum and I feel comfortable declaring that it is a part of the Sacred Timeline.
Regarding whether Netflix’s Daredevil will continue to be a member of the MCU, Marvel has not yet made a definitive announcement in the public domain. But since April of last year, there have been rumours that Echo and Born Again make explicit allusions to the Netflix series, indicating that it would be closely incorporated into the MCU. Furthermore, Secret Invasion, the first Phase Five series of the MCU, has an Easter egg from the original Daredevil. Even though over half of the 18 episodes of Season 1 had already been recorded, Born Again is now going through a creative change as a result of a reorganisation of the show’s directors and writers in September of last year. Hope for the project increased again when Born Again found a new showrunner the following month. Star Vincent D’Onofrio thanked Marvel for giving the future MCU series serious thought and said the programme will have the same “feel” as its Netflix predecessor. The SAG-AFTRA strike forced a halt to the show’s filming, but it will shortly restart.
Prior to Born Again, D’Onofrio will appear in the upcoming Phase Five series Echo with Alaqua Cox and Charlie Cox from Daredevil. Marion Dayre created the series Echo, which follows the lead character as she leaves her criminal past behind and returns to her hometown Oklahoma to reunite with her family. But Maya Lopez meets the evil criminal Kingpin (D’Onofrio), who attempts to team up with his old protégé from the Tracksuit Mafia in order to eliminate a shared foe. Given its love of gore, Echo is the first TV-MA series in MCU history as well as the first show to air under the Marvel Spotlight label. Maya’s part in Born Again is purportedly paved by the five-episode miniseries.
