Fans will have to wait, but actor Vincent D’Onofrio, who starred in Daredevil: Born Again, and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, talked about the Disney+ and Marvel Studios series picking back up where they left off. In an interview, D’Onofrio mentioned the topic and said that the actors and crew are “getting back up” and “having a really good time right now.” He continued, saying, “We’re gonna start soon, hopefully sooner rather than later, and Charlie Cox and I feel like the right vibe is there.” D’Onofrio declared, “I think all the powers out there that control this whole creative world of the MCU, also believe that we’re in the right place right now,” in reference to the new showrunner and directors of Born Again, Dario Scardapane and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, respectively. I must admit, honestly, it’s just chance.”

“I mean, my favourite series so far have been Moon Knight and Loki, and we’ve got Benson and Moorhead as directors, and so that’s pretty lucky,” he said. “And we have the amazing writer Dario Scardapane, who is the author of The Punisher. We’re now in a really joyful position.” Regarding his and Benson’s participation in Born Again, Moorhead stated in November, “Right now, we’re simply watching Daredevil content—not just the Netflix series, but anything that’s available. We are only thickening our information stew.”

Regarding Cox, the actor stated in 2023 that he believed the Daredevil era was finished, adding that it had been “a couple of years” since the cancellation of the show and that he was unaware of the embargo. Cox said, “So, at that time, I didn’t know that.” “I just assumed everything was finished, and I would periodically talk on the phone with Vincent, who portrays Wilson Fisk. And he would sort of remark, “I have no doubt that they will bring us back.” I would be on the phone saying something like, “Mate, this guy is insane!” He must let go of it.” Returning to D’Onofrio, he stated in May that he believes Born Again is “definitely a new show” and not like the Netflix series, despite the lack of narrative specifics. He also mentioned that he and Cox weren’t bored. It’s interesting to note that the latest Echo teaser establishes the Netflix series’ canonical status inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
