Actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who plays Bear, finally spoke up about rumours that he will be starring in the future Fantastic Four film, although he remained silent about the matter.Official casting announcements are anticipated soon. Rumour has it that the key cast members of the Fantastic Four remake are virtually locked in. One candidate that has been floated is Moss-Bachrach, who is supposedly considering playing Ben Grimm, also known as The Thing. The actor was questioned about the rumours that he would be the next live-action Ben Grimm during a recent interview with TheWrap. Moss-Bachrach expressed her preference to keep the fans in suspense by stating, “Oh, I can’t confirm, and I can’t deny, I think.”
One may read Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s response in a variety of ways. It’s noteworthy that he didn’t directly refute the rumours, even though it’s still unclear whether he is seriously considering the Fantastic Four job. Usually, actors would make it very plain in interviews that they aren’t engaged if that’s the case. Of fact, in order to keep his unexpected role in Spider-Man: No Way Home a secret, Andrew Garfield famously did precisely that for a few months before to the movie’s premiere. This makes it far more difficult to verify the veracity of star comments on their own movie rumours. If Moss-Bachrach is cast, it would indicate that the MCU has granted him two parts. He played the role of Micro in the Netflix original series The Punisher, which was a spinoff of Daredevil. Only recently did Marvel Studios formally acknowledge that The Punisher is a part of the MCU.
Another person that’s supposedly in the running for a big part is Vanessa Kirby, who would portray Sue Storm, a.k.a. the Invisible Woman. Similarly, when questioned about the rumours in the past, Kirby declined to confirm or refute them. When Variety questioned her about the rumours in November 2023, her only response was, “I don’t know, you’ll have to ask them.” Joining would be an immense honour for me. Pedro Pascal is reportedly in talks to play the role of Reed Richards in the film. Although the casting has been revealed by a number of prominent publications, the announcement has not yet been made formally. Regarding Johnny Storm, also known as Human Torch, it has been suggested that Joseph Quinn, who is well-known to fans of Stranger Things for his memorable performance as Eddie Munson, is being considered for the part. After several delays, the Fantastic Four revival is now scheduled to hit theatres on February 14, 2025. Since Kevin Feige made the first announcement of the film in 2019, a number of filmmakers and writers have joined and left the project, resulting in significant behind-the-scenes changes. It appears like director Matt Shakman and writer Josh Friedman are finally bringing the movie back on track.
