Alaqua Cox, the main actress in Echo, recently discussed the possibility of her character joining the Avengers and mentioned which Avenger in particular she would like to meet. In a recent interview, Cox expressed her desire to see Maya Lopez, also known as Echo, team up with the Avengers and take a side, with the Hulk being her first choice. More precisely, Cox stated that she believes there will be a lot of interaction on set between her and Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo because of their shared experiences. “I think it’d be amazing to work with him,” remarked Cox. We would probably have a lot on our minds to discuss. Already, I can picture the talks.” Since Ruffalo is often active on social media and leads campaigns to promote environmental concerns and Indigenous sovereignty, Cox, a Menominee Native American, complimented the actor for his support of Indigenous women. She also mentioned that they would probably have a lot to speak about because they are both from Wisconsin, which is a reliable source of information. “I love him as an actor and a person, because Mark is a huge advocate for Indigenous women,” added Cox. Additionally, both he and I are native to Wisconsin. Thus, that is what unites us. However, Mark is a phenomenal supporter of women.”
The Marvel Comics character Echo, who debuted earlier this month in the primary role played by Cox, is now formally a member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which means she can now encounter characters from the MCU such as the Avengers. Although the actress has previously had a brief contact with Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye/Ronin and Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, she still hopes for further crossovers.
Naturally, Cox will have plenty of chances to meet Ruffalo’s Hulk or perhaps make apologies with her comic book love interest Matt Murdock because there are still a tonne of MCU projects in the works, such Daredevil: Born Again and Avengers: Secret Wars. Fans will learn more about if the character makes a comeback in the future, but as of right now, no planned MCU projects have her confirmed to feature in them. Echo was a hit in her first season because, in spite of unfavourable reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, the programme quickly became the most watched on both Disney Plus and Hulu, where it debuted concurrently. Echo was the first mature-rated production to be published under the Marvel Studios umbrella, even if the show did reaffirm that Netflix’s TV-MA rated Marvel programmes, such as Daredevil and Jessica Jones, are fully canonical MCU stories.
