Zero post-credit scenes confirmed for Madame Web by Sony

Superhero movies and post-credit scenes have formed an inseparable alliance, becoming as synonymous as superheroes and their iconic capes. As audiences eagerly anticipate Dakota Johnson’s portrayal of Madame Web in the latest cinematic offering, the question of whether to endure the credits or risk missing a crucial scene looms large. Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has been a trailblazer in employing this tantalizing tactic, but Sony’s Spider-Man spinoffs, such as Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Morbius, have harnessed it with winsome success, teasing multi-verse leaps and intersecting with MCU canon. However, as the era of Morbius concludes, Madame Web, set in 2003 around the birth of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, breaks away from this trend, offering no post-credit scene according to Sony representatives.

While the MCU has championed the post-credit scene, Madame Web’s decision to forgo this element may reflect a shifting trend. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, another Sony production, also lacked a post-credit scene. The absence of these scenes raises the question of whether this once-expected tradition is losing its appeal, akin to capes that may now be considered gauche in the superhero genre. Nevertheless, even without the post-credit allure, staying through the credits remains a commendable way for audiences to acknowledge and appreciate the collaborative efforts that went into crafting a movie as audaciously unique as Madame Web, set to captivate audiences starting February 14th.
