Fan art depicts The Fantastic Four main cast members as they could show up in the next MCU film. The Fantastic Four, starring Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (also known as Mister Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (also known as Invisible Woman), Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (also known as The Thing), and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (also known as Human Torch), was formally announced after months of speculation. After the announcement was made official, the digital artist spdrmnkyxxiii released a brand-new image of the ensemble cast as their individual roles. Although it’s not official artwork, it could resemble the MCU versions of the Fantastic Four’s eponymous quartet. You may view the artwork below.
Some unique artwork was also used for The Fantastic Four’s formal cast unveiling. Marvel released a post on Valentine’s Day that included some of the movie’s characters and suggested that the movie have a nostalgic vibe. The Thing is pictured reading a LIFE magazine that was originally published in 1963, which is another subtle hint in the artwork that suggests the upcoming film will take place in that year. The identities of the other characters in the film are still unknown, as only the members of the core cast have been formally revealed. The identity of the film’s antagonist is also a mystery, despite a campaign calling for Cillian Murphy to play Doctor Doom. Rumour has said that Doctor Doom won’t be the movie’s primary antagonist and will just appear briefly. Javier Bardem is reportedly in discussions to play Galactus, however this hasn’t been confirmed by the studio. There had been earlier rumours that Antonio Banderas was considering the part. Although the first attempt at a live-action Fantastic Four movie was never officially released, this will be the fourth one. A version directed by Roger Corman was abandoned in the early 1990s after just a teaser was released. Tim Story directed a new Fantastic Four film, which was released in 2005. A sequel to that movie, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, was released in 2007 and reunited Story with the director’s chair. Later in 2015, director Josh Trank would oversee a second iteration. Due to the movie’s poor box office success, a sequel was not produced.
