Marvel Studios’ much awaited Fantastic Four remake is presently scheduled to begin filming in late summer 2024. Despite not having a direct opponent, the MCU remake will nonetheless open in theaters the same month as a number of high-profile films, including James Gunn’s Superman and Universal’s highly anticipated Jurassic World. The Fantastic Four, a script by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer, will be directed by Matt Shakman of WandaVision. The studio officially revealed the star-studded ensemble that will portray the title squad on February 14. Pedro Pascal, star of The Last of Us and The Mandalorian, has agreed to play Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic in the MCU. Prior to Pascal, the character was portrayed by actor-director John Krasinksi, a longtime favorite among fans for the role of casting. This was in the 2022 film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The Oscar nominee Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Girl, the Emmy winner Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and the breakout actor from Stranger Things, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, complete the family.

The Fantastic Four’s original key art poster seemed to imply that the relaunch may take set in the 1960s, but other story information were kept under wraps. Along with the core group, the forthcoming film will also include newcomers to the MCU, including Julia Garner, John Malkovich, and Paul Walter Hauser. The Ozark veteran is expected to portray the part of Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer. Ralph Ineson, a former student of Harry Potter, was just chosen to play the important part of Galactus, a cosmic being with the ability to devour planets in comic books. Despite having a small part in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Ineson will not be making his debut appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the Fantastic Four film. Quinn previously acknowledged having seen the script for Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four, calling it “really brilliant” and “compelling.” The budding actor is certain that the eagerly expected revival will counteract audiences’ boredom with superhero flicks. “I think that with the story of The Fantastic Four, it feels like we want to get this right,” Quinn stated. There are elements of it that set it apart from other Marvel movies. I found that to be really fascinating. Returning to the people involved, I think Matt Shakman is a wonderful filmmaker, the cast is excellent, and the writing is excellent from what I’ve read. It’s very amazing. I’m thrilled to get this chance.”
