Wesley Snipes has offered his thoughts on the ongoing production issues facing the Blade revival in the MCU. This happens after the project’s director was fired twice. Actor Wesley Snipes from the Blade trilogy posted a GIF of himself as the Marvel superhero on X. Also written by the actor was “Blade, lordylordylordy. People continue searching for the magic ingredient, driving snowmobiles in traffic, a little harsh. Daywalkers appear effortless, don’t they? The post is shown below.
The new disclosure that Yann Demange has left the project comes after Snipes’ post. He was the second director to join after Bassim Tariq left, and his hire was revealed in 2022. Additionally, the movie has gone through a number of screenwriters; Eric Pearson most recently joined to work on the most current script. The Blade movie for the Marvel Cinematic Universe was first revealed in 2019. Despite five years of development hell, Mahershala Ali is still set to portray the role.
The Blade revival in the MCU is currently slated for release on November 7, 2025. The director’s departure from the project may cause further delay for the film. In any case, there’s a potential that fans may witness Snipes make a comeback in an MCU film as his own Blade. Though it hasn’t been confirmed, there are whispers that he could make a multiverse cameo in a forthcoming MCU movie. It remains to be seen if that happens. During a 2022 interview, Snipes stated, “We spoke,” referring to his conversation with Ali regarding Blade. “It wasn’t between us that he got cast. That was business. It’s okay with me. I’m not too committed to the character since I don’t go around dressed as Blade. I don’t experience any emotional loss. None. He was recast, which pleases me, and I think he’ll do a fantastic job.” Regarding the upcoming 2023 Blade movie, Ali stated in a different interview that “We’re working on it.” I could just tell you that. I find the project’s trajectory to be quite encouraging. I believe we’ll pick up where we left off really quickly. Regarding the current state of affairs, the people involved, and the people setting the direction and composing the screenplay, I’m really enthused.”
