Marvel Studios’ 2026 release schedule is starting to take form

To put it simply, Marvel Studios 2022 SDCC and D23 presentations are best forgotten by fans of the film franchise. The studio’s intentions for its Multiverse Saga have been completely redesigned in less than two years. However, Marvel has emerged and appears to have learnt, changed, and righted the ship after suffering through an unparalleled difficult period. Many of Marvel’s previously stated and planned projects have been postponed as a result of the unforeseen difficulties, and the future of others is questionable. But now that a revised course for the saga’s conclusion has been established, the studio can start developing the supporting characters that will enhance the narrative around the two Avengers mainstays. The studio’s 2025 projects appear to be progressing as planned, therefore the Parliament has shifted its focus to its 2026 slate, which is coming together swiftly. Even though the studio hasn’t made any formal announcements, 2026 is starting to take shape as follows:

Blade (February 13, 2026)

Avengers: Doomsday (May 1, 2026)

Spider-Man 4 (July 24, 2026)

Doctor Strange 3 (November 6, 2026)

To be fair, the studio has just yet to reveal details about Avengers: Doomsday, which is slated to be helmed by Anthony and Joe Russo. On the other hand, Sam Raimi is apparently closing in on a contract that would see him return to film the Doctor Strange series, while Destin Daniel Cretton just joined Spider-Man 4, opting to direct it instead of a Shang-Chi sequel. Indeed, Blade—which has apparently been looking for the right creative blend for more than five years—is still aiming to make its big screen debut. The studio has never faced a more uncertain period than it does right now, so caveat emptor definitely applies here; that being said, it is evident that the powers that be have been working on assembling a 2026 slate and have made some genuine headway. Furthermore, 2026 is looking to be one of the studio’s largest years ever—a feat for a company that is attempting to reduce output.
