Since 2018, Hardy’s performance has captivated fans across the globe, spanning two solo films and various post-credit appearances. Despite Hardy’s statements that The Last Dance will be his final solo film as the character, speculation abounds regarding his onscreen future, both within Sony’s Spider-Man Universe and potentially crossing over into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One prevailing theory revolves around his connection to the film’s villain, Knull, a primordial cosmic being with significant impact across the Marvel Universe.

Knull, created by Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman, is known as the “King in Black,” having domain over all symbiotes in the galaxy. He became the central antagonist of the King in Black comic crossover, where nearly the entire Marvel Universe united to combat him. The Last Dance has hinted at Knull’s onscreen debut as the first chapter in a larger story, leading some to wonder if the character will evolve into a significant onscreen villain.
