Marvel Studios had a very light release schedule in 2024, mostly due to Hollywood’s double whammy in 2023. However, in 2025, it won’t be the case as much. Three movies and six television shows are among the nine releases scheduled for 2025. That isn’t particularly shocking, though, given that Bob Iger stated on Disney’s earnings call in May that the company would be cutting its yearly production of films to “two to the maximum three.” Additionally, Iger said there will be “about two TV series a year,” but it’s unclear when that will start. The CEO said that the change was a clear attempt to “focus more on quality.”
Here are the Marvel films and television shows that are presently scheduled for release in 2025.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Release Date: January 29, 2025
Cast: Hudson Thames, Colman Domingo, Eugene Byrd, Grace Song, Zeno Robinson, Hugh Dancy, Charlie Cox
Number of Episodes: TBD
The first Marvel project to hit Disney+ in the new year is the animated series “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,” which was written by executive producer Jeff Trammel. In a manner that honors the character’s early comic book beginnings, it will follow Peter Parker “on his way to becoming Spider-Man in the MCU, with a journey unlike we’ve ever seen.” Additionally, Spider-Man and Daredevil will be reunited in the series, with Charlie Cox returning to the character of the latter. During Comic-Con, Ryan Meiderding, VP and Creative Director of Visual Development at Marvel Studios, stated, “We went back to the roots, Ditko-inspired glasses and the color scheme and had him redrawn into an Alex Toth animated style from the ’60s.” In keeping with the teasers, Trammell mentioned that Osborn makes his debut appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and that Harry Obsorn is a part of the program. The villains Chameleon, The Scorpion, Speed Demon, Tarantula, The Rhino, Butane the Pyromaniac, and, of course, Doctor Otto Octavius were all hinted to by him.
Captain America: Brave New World
Release Date: February 14, 2025
Cast: Anthony Mackie, Tim Blake Nelson, Giancarlo Esposito, Carl Lumbly, Danny Ramirez, Shiri Haas and Harrison Ford
Following the events of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” Anthony Mackie’s character Sam Wilson will assume the role of Captain America in “Captain America 4,” which is officially titled “Brave New World.” Tim Blake, Dalan Musson, and Malcolm Spellman, the chief writer of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” wrote the script, which Julius Onah (“Luce,” “The Cloverfield Paradox”) directed. Nelson will return to his role as The Leader, the antagonist from “The Incredible Hulk.” After watching “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” Carl Lumbly and Danny Ramirez return. Harrison Ford also replaces the late William Hurt as Thaddeus Ross, who will, indeed, transform into the Red Hulk. Giancarlo Esposito will portray the Serpent Society’s monarch, Seth Voelker, also known as Sidewinder. The actors’ strike caused the movie to be postponed from its scheduled summer 2024 release date to 2025.
Daredevil: Born Again
Release Date: March 4, 2025
Cast: Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Margarita Levieva, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Zabryna Guevara, Nikki James, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, Michael Gandolfini, Ayelet Zurer and Jon Bernthal
Number of Episodes: 18
Fans instantly started demanding more when Charlie Cox made a comeback as Matt Murdoch in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” thinking the MCU will somehow take up his tale from the Netflix series. And that’s what “Daredevil: Born Again” will do. The first season of the new series, which will consist of 18 episodes, will premiere on March 4. In the series, Murdoch will “fight for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk pursues his own political endeavors in New York,” according to the official description. Both men find themselves on an unavoidable collision course as their former identities start to surface. Since the conclusion of that series depicted Kingpin only starting to consider running for mayor, it is likely that “Daredevil: Born Again” will come after “Echo” on the big MCU chronology. Dario Scardapane, who has experience working in the Marvel world as an EP and writer on Netflix’s “The Punisher,” was hired as the showrunner in October. Additionally, codirecting pair Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson, who most recently helmed many episodes of “Loki” Season 2, were called upon. The three will work together to lead the rest of the production. The program had to look for new writers and directors when head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman left the show during the makeover and directors for the remaining episodes were let go. Corman and Ord will be listed as executive producers even though they left.
Thunderbolts*
Release Date: May 2, 2025

Eric Pearson’s (“Black Widow”) script is being directed by Jake Schrier (“Paper Towns”). The movie’s release date was moved from 2024 to 2025 because the performers went on strike just as filming was starting.
Ironheart
Release Date: June 24, 2025
Cast: Dominique Thorne, Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam, Anji White
Number of Episodes: 6
Dominique Thorne’s character Ironheart made her cinematic debut in Marvel’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” and will return in June with a series of her own that is set after the events of the “Black Panther” sequel. Ironheart is a television series that “pits technology against magic when Riri Williams — a young, brilliant inventor determined to make her mark on the world — returns to her hometown of Chicago,” according to the official synopsis. Her inventive approach to creating iron suits is great, but in the process of achieving her goals, she becomes entangled with the enigmatic yet endearing Parker Robbins, also known as “The Hood” (Anthony Ramos). Ironheart’s real name is Riri Williams when she’s not wearing a suit. In the comics, Williams, a Black adolescent genius who attends MIT, reverse-engineers Tony Stark’s Iron Man armor design to create her own. Like Tony, Williams is definitely a genius. In the comics, Riri receives resources and a suit AI from Pepper Potts, who mentors her similarly to how Tony mentored Peter Parker in the MCU.

Release Date: July 25, 2025

Ralph Ineson, Julia Garner, Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, Sarah Niles
Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, which had previously licensed the “Fantastic Four” characters for use in two earlier franchise attempts, gave Marvel Studios its first ownership of the characters. The project was supposed to be directed by Jon Watts, who helmed all three of the MCU’s “Spider-Man” films, but he left in April 2022. Matt Shakman, who directed all of “WandaVision,” agreed to direct in August 2022, forgoing his plans to lead the upcoming “Star Trek” film in the process. Josh Friedman, the writer of “Avatar 2,” signed on in March, while Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer were first touted as the screenplay’s authors. After portraying a multiverse version of Reed Richards in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” John Krasinski acknowledged in 2022 that he was unlikely to return to the role. He won’t be, in fact. Pedro Pascal will portray Mr. Fantastic, with Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, also known as The Thing, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm on each side. “Marvel Studios’ ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ introduces Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ben Grimm/The Thing as they face their most daunting challenge yet,” reads the official synopsis. The film is set against the colorful backdrop of a retro-futuristic world inspired by the 1960s. They must protect Earth from a hungry cosmic deity named Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his mysterious Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner), forcing them to strike a balance between their heroic responsibilities and the strength of their familial ties. Furthermore, it becomes quite personal as if Galactus’ scheme to eat the entire planet and all of its inhabitants weren’t already terrible enough.

However, “Eyes of Wakanda” really “follows the adventures of brave Wakandan warriors throughout history,” not only Okoye, as stated in the official summary. The protagonists of this world-traveling quest must complete perilous tasks in order to recover Vibranium treasures from Wakanda’s adversaries. This is their narrative, and they are the Hatut Zaraze,” it says.

But after a while, he works for the villain Baron Zemo (played by Daniel Bruhl in the MCU), who endows him with superhuman powers. Although he first opposes the Avengers, he eventually becomes one of them.
