One temporal discovery makes Kingpin’s forthcoming position in Daredevil: Born Again much more terrifying than it was before Netflix’s Defenders Saga was added to the MCU. Daredevil: Born Again, the first live-action Daredevil series created by Marvel Studios, will debut on March 4, 2025. Following three seasons on Netflix, Matt Murdock, Kingpin, Punisher, and other characters are back in Daredevil: Born Again. Kingpin first made a major debut in the MCU chronology with a minor role in Hawkeye before returning in Daredevil: Born Again. He then had a major role in Echo. Maya battles Daredevil in a flashback sequence in the Echo series, which takes place five years between Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Kingpin’s reclaiming of power makes him much more dangerous because Daredevil was never snapped.
Even though it’s unknown how much of the plotlines from Netflix’s Daredevil series will be included in Daredevil: Born Again, Kingpin’s ascent to power in spite of all the obstacles makes him even more dangerous. After Wilson Fisk was nearly invincible for three seasons, Matthew Murdock ultimately defeats him at the finale of Daredevil season three. It was logical to infer that Daredevil’s abrupt disappearance allowed Kingpin to regain his position of authority after his reappearance in Hawkeye, Echo, and Daredevil: Born Again. The fact that Daredevil survived the snap, however, begs the issue of how Kingpin was able to regain control. He feels much more dangerous coming into Daredevil: Born Again since he was able to do it while Matt Murdock was still active in Hell’s Kitchen. It is hoped that the series will provide some answers on the circumstances behind his ascent.
Notably, Kingpin’s tale in the MCU is made much more intriguing by the fact that Daredevil was spared. Given that Daredevil was absent for five years, it would have been simple to conclude that Wilson Fisk was able to regain his position as the Kingpin of New York City. However, the fact that he was still alive adds a fascinating element to the Kingpin’s recovery, which could be further explored in Daredevil: Born Again.
The most interesting storylines in the MCU after the Infinity Saga are ones that dealt with the ramifications of the events that had already happened.
Additionally, if Daredevil: Born Again so desires, it will be able to examine what transpired during those five years. Following the Infinity Saga, several of the most intriguing plotlines in the MCU focused on the consequences of the past events, most notably Thanos’ snap. The characters were always the main focus of Netflix’s Daredevil series. It may be interesting to watch Kingpin’s MCU tale unfold if Daredevil: Born Again emphasizes the same kind of character development. One of the greatest live-action Marvel villains ever was Kingpin, even before Netflix’s Defenders Saga was included into the MCU canon. Since then, he has made appearances in a number of projects, setting the stage for him to become the most powerful returning villain in the history of the world. His impending position in Daredevil: Born Again is made considerably riskier by the fact that he was able to recover power after Daredevil season 3 despite Matt Murdock not being snapped.
