Young Avengers movie is coming

Spread MCU News

WandaVision, the first instalment of the Multiverse Saga, introduced viewers to Billy and Tommy Maximoff, also known as Wiccan and Speed, who could join the Young Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Along with them, actors like Eli Bradley (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), America Chavez (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness), and Kate Bishop (Hawkeye) have been hinted at joining the group. A mature Cassie Lang, a.k.a. Stature, will make her MCU debut as a new hero in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The Hulk’s son Skaar, who was first seen in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, may also join the Young Avengers.

Kang the Conqueror, the main antagonist of the Multiverse Saga, may be the final piece that has been slowly being added to the Young Avengers team that Marvel Studios has appeared to be slowly assembling for the MCU. After several younger heroes, including legacy characters from the original Avengers, were introduced in more recent projects, many people have theorised that the MCU will soon feature a Young Avengers team. Even though a Young Avengers team-up in the MCU has not been officially confirmed, most of the necessary elements are already in place, with the exception of one significant Young Avengers member from the Marvel Comics.

Many people are wondering when the Young Avengers team will unite, possibly in time to fight alongside the Avengers in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. Phase 4 introduced several younger heroes who could take their places as members of the MCU’s Young Avengers team. Marvel Studios hasn’t confirmed all of the open slots in Phase 6, but there are still a lot of them, so it’s possible that a Young Avengers project could be forthcoming. The Young Avengers team may be nearly complete given Kang’s positioning as the Multiverse Saga’s main antagonist and the growing prominence of variants.

Young Avengers #1 from 2005 featured the Marvel Comics debut of Nathaniel Richards, also known as Iron Lad, a third-century-born descendant of Reed Richards’ father Nathaniel. For the Multiverse Saga of the MCU, it’s interesting to note that Richards is also a version of Kang the Conqueror, albeit one who chose to abandon his plans to become a supervillain in favour of living a life of courage. Kang the Conqueror has already been introduced in Phase 4 in the form of He Who Remains in Loki, and Kang the Conqueror will officially debut in Phase 5 as the Multiverse Saga’s main antagonist.

This suggests that Nathaniel Richards’ introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Iron Lad, which would make the most sense in the run-up to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, might not be far off. Iron Lad was frequently portrayed as the Young Avengers’ leader in the comics, so the MCU’s inclusion of the character could result in the formation of the eagerly awaited superhero group. Iron Lad could easily make his debut in any of the upcoming Phase 5 projects or beyond. His existence may be kept a secret for the time being in order for Marvel to avoid giving away major plot points for upcoming MCU projects.
