MCU Executive discusses whether Kang appears in reboot for Fantastic Four

As the Multiverse Saga of the MCU progresses, Kang the Conqueror’s name will continue to resurface, leaving fans to speculate about what projects he could show up in. Kang (Jonathan Majors), who MCU viewers first encountered in Loki as He Who Remains, forewarned of his versions. This warning was reinforced by the Kang that appeared in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. It would make sense for the time-traveling bad guy to make another appearance in the ongoing telling of Multiverse-related storylines in Phases 5 and 6, given that many Kang Variants have been introduced to the MCU and their danger levels have been defined. This was confirmed by a Marvel official, who hinted that the character would make a debut in the Fantastic Four remake in 2025.

The Fantastic Four will include Kang the Conqueror

Den of Geek asked Stephen Broussard, a creative executive at Marvel Studios and producer of Quantumania, if Kang (Jonathan Majors) may make an appearance in the Fantastic Four movie in 2025. There was no formal information provided by Broussard, but he did say that he “thinks there will be no corner of the MCU” where Kang won’t play at least some part.

“I don’t want to get into too much detail about what may or may not occur in that movie [“Fantastic Four”]. The possibilities are endless with them, and they undoubtedly have an incredible rogues gallery. However, Kang as a force and as a plurality excite us greatly, and I believe that moving forward, Jonathan and Kang will have an impact on every area of the MCU.”

Given how attached the villain is to Marvel’s First Family, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Kang appear in at least a cameo role if “the sky’s the limit with Fantastic Four rogues” for the team’s future movie. In fact, it’s interesting to note that Kang hasn’t been referred to by his entire comics name, Nathaniel Richards, up to this point. Indeed, like that Richards. Kang is actually a comic book descendent of Reed Richards, a member of the Fantastic Four (Mr. Fantastic). Broussard went on to hint that Kang would not always appear in the same form in different projects, saying it is “extremely fascinating” to think that “his character play drastically diverse forms of the same person”

“We find that to be very exciting, and it is very unusual that Jonathan would play these characters. This character is playing radically different versions of the same person, so I was just trying to think of something similar in a movie. I’m glad we get to be the ones to explore because it feels special.”

In addition, Broussard talked about what’s coming up and how new initiatives will act as points of connection so that they “can communicate to one other in innovative ways:”

“As time goes on, the interconnectedness and the interesting ways in which these movies might communicate with one another start to come together. The form pursues the goal of creating something amusing, striving to create a fantastic television show in “Loki” and a fantastic motion picture in “Quantumania.””

In various guises, The Fantastic Four have engaged Kang several times. Famously, the First Family engaged in combat with the Conqueror while he was going by the name Rama-Tut; this Variation is anticipated to continue to appear in the MCU in the future. Given how late in the Multiverse Saga the team will be presented, emphasising the links between the Fantastic Four and Kang might be a useful approach to integrate the new team into the storyline that has already been developed.

The Fantastic Four hits cinemas on February 14, 2025.
