Chris Evans talks Captain America: will he return to the role?

Spread MCU News

Chris Evans, the actor who portrayed Steve Rogers aka Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, recently answered the question that has been on the minds of Marvel fans since the release of Avengers: Endgame in 2019. During a Q&A session at ACE Comic Con, Evans was asked if he would return to the role of Captain America if given the opportunity.

Evans responded by saying that he loves the role of Captain America deeply and that he believes there are more Steve Rogers stories to tell. However, he also stated that he is very precious about the character and that going back to the role right now doesn’t feel quite right. This could be seen as a feint to hide a future announcement, as the introduction of the multiverse in the Marvel Cinematic Universe opens up a world of possibilities for storytelling.

During the Q&A session, Evans also discussed his love for comic book movies and why he keeps working on them. He stated that comics have all the right ingredients to make a good film and that he enjoys being a part of these projects. He also talked about the movies he would want to star in a remake of, citing Little Shop of Horrors and Clue, and discussed which outfits fans can expect to see his dog Dodger wear on social media (a shrunken leather jacket, apparently).

In addition, Evans was asked if he would be producing more projects following his miniseries Defending Jacob. He joked that producing is a lot of work and that he would rather spend more time with his friends and family.

Overall, Evans’ response to the question of whether he would return to the role of Captain America shows his love for the character and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While he may not be returning to the role right now, fans can still look forward to seeing him in future projects and enjoying his performances in other movies.
