Victoria Alonso, who was fired by Disney last month as the head of Marvel Studios’ visual effects, has reached a settlement. The settlement’s specifics are still secret, although reports claim that the compensation totaled several million dollars. The settlement was just reached, and Glaser Weil Fink Howard Avchen & Shapiro LLP represented Alonso throughout the conflict that became public on March 24. Alonso had spent 17 years working at Marvel Studios before being summarily fired on March 17. Her most recent position at Marvel Studios was President, Physical and Postproduction, VFX and Animation Production. She had previously been nominated for an Oscar for the international feature film Argentina from 1985. Alonso was fired after publicly stating her support for diversity in the entertainment industry.

Heavyweight Hollywood litigator Glaser refuted claims that Alonso had been fired for working on non-Disney projects in response to her departure, asserting that Alonso was let go because she refused to do what she thought was wrong. Disney reacted by claiming that Alonso’s account omitted important details about her departure, such as a breach of contract and a clear infraction of company policy. Alonso co-produced Iron Man’s 2008 release and has since worked on a number of additional Marvel films and Disney+ shows. The settlement shows that the conflict between Alonso and Disney has been resolved. Her departure from Marvel Studios caused outrage in the entertainment sector.
