Sana Amanat, the producer of Ms. Marvel, encouraged fans to continue fighting for a second season of the Disney+ series at the 2023 San Diego Comic-Con. Amanat mentioned the idea of another season of Ms. Marvel at the Women of Marvel panel at SDCC. “It’s great to see more demand,” she commented. “I mean, complain. I’m glad you’re complaining to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige; let’s have a Season 2.” Ms. Marvel’s first six-episode season launched on Disney+ in June 2022. Ms. Marvel follows Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan, a 16-year-old Pakistani-American high school student who dreams of one day fighting with the Avengers in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kamala embarks on her own superhero origin tale after acquiring an old inheritance that lets her to create strong constructions out of cosmic energy. Despite the excitement expressed by fans and Ms. Marvel directors and executive producers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah in a second season, Marvel Studios and Disney+ have not renewed the MCU programme at this time.

While a second season does not appear to be in the works, Ms. Marvel will have her broadcast premiere in August. The first three episodes of the Marvel Studios series will broadcast on Saturday, August 5, 2023, with the remaining three running the following week on Saturday, August 12. Ms. Marvel will be the first Disney+ production from Marvel Studios to appear on broadcast television. The revelation came only a few days after Marvel announced that Secret Invasion, another MCU Disney+ series, will stream its first three episodes on Hulu for a limited period, another first for the business. Despite the lack of a Season 2, Vellani’s Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel will be seen again in The Marvels, with Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). The forthcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film follows Captain Marvel, WandaVision, Ms. Marvel, and Secret Invasion. The Marvels was directed by Nia DeCosta, who co-wrote the script with Megan McDonnell, Elissa Karasik, and Zeb Wells.

“Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and exacted revenge on the Supreme Intelligence,” according to The Marvels. “However, unintended consequences leave Carol bearing the burden of a destabilised universe,” according to the film’s synopsis. “When her responsibilities take her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with those of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau.” As The Marvels, this odd three must band together and learn to work together to rescue the universe.”
