Rob Liefeld, the legendary comic book writer and illustrator, said that Marvel Studios and Disney had requested him to refrain from discussing the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film Deadpool 3. According to reports, Liefeld said that he’s been a touch too open about the production of the threequel, stating that the film’s studios have virtually barred him from discussing it. “As I promised Marvel and Disney, I can’t say anything about this film,” Liefeld remarked. “I got the call, so I’m sitting here saying nothing.” I’m not going to say anything. He tried, but I’m speechless. There’s nothing else to say.” Liefeld has already been quite upfront about Deadpool 3, the film in which his invention will eventually enter the MCU after years of mocking it. While he seldom discusses specifics, he has regularly promoted the film, tempting fans with multiple explosive cameos. “The stuff I know will melt your face, okay?” That’s all I’m going to say, it’ll melt your face!” he remarked in a June 2023 interview. Liefeld has also stated that he was aware of Hugh Jackman’s comeback as Wolverine long before it was officially revealed, causing many fans to assume he is particularly knowledgeable about the film’s production.

Wade Wilson, once again played by Ryan Reynolds, will link up with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine to combat an unknown evil and eventually wind up in the MCU in Deadpool 3. Aside from numerous familiar Deadpool characters returning, such as Stefan Kapii’s Colossus and Brianna Hildebrand’s Negasonic Teenage Warhead, the film will reportedly include a slew of superhero stars that existed before the MCU. Jennifer Garner has been confirmed to reprise her role as Elektra from the 2003 Daredevil film, while rumours persist that Channing Tatum may finally get his opportunity to play Gambit, a part the actor has been wanting for years. In terms of Wolverine, Jackman has hinted that the character in Deadpool 3 would be both recognisable and new to long-time fans. “When I keep thinking of me and co-star Ryan Reynolds, of Deadpool and Wolverine, who are classic comic book rivals, there’s also a dynamic that I’ve never really gotten to do before as Wolverine,” the actor explained. “I just thought, ‘This is going to be a lot of fun.'” I’ve never done anything like this before. ‘I can hardly wait.'”
