A Hopeful Update for Ant-Man 4 from a Marvel Executive

Spread MCU News

Speculation about whether Ant-Man 4 will actually happen has already begun as MCU fans wait for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. Only a few days remain until Ant-Man 3 debuts as the 31st MCU film, kicking off Marvel Studios’ Phase 5 slate with an exhilarating new tale. As is customary for the MCU, the threequel has been met with mixed reviews from reviewers, but attention is now focused on the potential future of Ant-Man. Even though it hasn’t been proven yet, a report that Paul Rudd’s hero would continue to battle after Ant-Man 3 essentially guarantees him a position in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in 2025.The most significant individuals behind that call already have another sequel in mind before Ant-Man 4 ever becomes a possibility, which is years away, if it ever materialises at all.

Currently being discussed by Marvel Studios is Ant-Man 4.

Before Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania’s opening weekend in cinemas, Marvel Studios producer and Parliament member Stephen Broussard said that the crew is actively debating concepts for Ant-Man 4. According to Broussard, the MCU crew is “already thinking about it,” and the studio always considers fresh story ideas once each MCU production is completed:

“We’ve already given it some thought. Every movie is like its own battle, and you live with the scars from creating it and striving to make it great. But after the journey of making the movie, hope springs eternal, and you begin to put yourself back together. Sure, what if we did X and what if we did Y? you ask.

He made it apparent that he’s already spoken with Ant-Man trilogy director Peyton Reed and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige about what may be done, even if he didn’t “want to say anything” about their suggestions just yet:

“Like the wheels start turning, you can’t help yourself. I don’t want to say anything about specifically what those are, but yeah, you can’t help yourself. Those conversations, those whispers have already started to happen between myself and Peyton and Kevin.”

When Will Ant-Man 4 Be Released?

Quotes from Stephen Broussard carry a lot of weight when considering the MCU’s future because he is a member of Marvel’s group of Parliament, which consists of the biggest creatives responsible for the MCU’s story progression. Even though only a small group of critics have seen Ant-Man 3, it is clear that Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Kathryn Newton, and the group’s journey is far from over. There are a lot of other stories to explore with the MCU’s smallest Avenger, Hank Pym, even though Michael Douglas, who plays him, has already made jokes about his character passing away in Ant-Man 4. Especially after this inevitably life-altering journey into the Quantum Realm.

Ant-Man 4 might not begin production until much later in the Multiverse Saga, or perhaps in Phase 7, due to the large number of upcoming films. The first trilogy took approximately eight years to complete and was released in four phases. As a result, the earliest date at which a new film may be realistically anticipated is probably between 2026 and 2028.

Additionally, following Captain America: New World Order and Thor: Love and Thunder, the Ant-Man franchise would become the third standalone series to continue into a fourth film. Scott Lang should come up soon in the rotation when thinking about a fourth excursion, especially as he was just the sixth MCU hero to have his own solo narrative back in 2015.

For now, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the third part in the Ant-Man story, will be released in cinemas on February 17.
