One of Miles Morales’ most dangerous adversaries is also present in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, according to a brand-new piece of concept art for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Donald Glover’s Prowler is seen in the picture, which concept artist and character designer Kris Anka posted to Twitter along with drawings captioned “MCU Prowler.” While many fans thought the character’s live-action cameo was connected to the massive franchise from Marvel Studios, Across the Spider-Verse never explicitly acknowledged it. It is still unclear at this moment how this will affect the MCU moving forward or whether Glover taking up the role of The Prowler was just an Easter egg for fans.
Since Glover’s debut as Aaron Davis in Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017, MCU fans have been anticipating the arrival of Prowler. A gang of high-tech armaments merchants from Vulture were encountered in the scenario, and the main character showed special interest in a pair of gauntlets. Later in the movie, he makes an appearance and admits to having a nephew, saying that he wishes to protect him from the gangsters seeking to take over the neighbourhood. Fans have been anticipating his comeback ever since, which eventually materialised as a cameo in Across the Spider-Verse. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has a number of live-action appearances, including Glover’s. The wicked Spot steals from Mrs Chen’s convenience shop in a quick sequence that also features Mrs Chen from Sony’s Venom movies. In another scene, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s portrayals of Peter Parker are featured in a number of footage from the previous Spider-Man movies that are shown on a number of monitors.
The follow-up to 2018’s Into the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, picks up Miles Morales in his late adolescence. The fan-favorite character, Spider-Man, is forced into yet another adventure when The Spot, a villain who can travel between universes and realities, unleashes a deadly scheme that could bring about the end of the multiverse. Spider-Man has already accepted his role as the only Spider-Man in his universe. Along with seeing familiar faces like Peter B. Parker and Gwen Stacy again, Miles meets new characters like Hobie Brown, nicknamed Spider-Punk, and Pavitr Prabhakar, aka Spider-Man India.
