Before agreeing to re-join Marvel for J.C. Chandor’s superhero film Kraven the Hunter, which is due out in 2024, rising star Aaron Taylor-Johnson had not remained for very long in the major franchises he has been a part of. In an interview, the actor—best known for his work in the Kick-Ass films and Avengers: Age of Ultron—discussed his career path and his much awaited part in Marvel’s Kraven the Hunter. Even though he was frequently given parts in franchise-type films, the actor admitted that he wasn’t always a fan since he preferred to put his family and personal life before his job. All of those opportunities presented themselves to me, starting with Kick-Ass and continuing with Godzilla and Avengers. But I wasn’t very fond of them. I applied for positions in well-known, enormous brands that no one knew about. I only wanted to be with my children. I wished not to be apart from them. Regarding his marriage to director Sam Taylor-Johnson and their two daughters, who were born in 2010 and 2012, respectively, Taylor-Johnson remarked, “I struggled with what that would be like. As a point of reference, Kick-Ass was released in 2010, the sequel in 2013, and Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015.

The Kraven the Hunter actor said that he hadn’t initially felt ready to take on these career-altering parts, adding that he also hadn’t particularly worried that he would be losing out on them. “I would argue that it was probably too soon for me to be in that position, and I wasn’t ready either. But sure, I also kind of didn’t care,” he continued. Taylor-Johnson only chose to take on supporting parts in modestly sized films like Chatroom, Savages, and Nocturnal Animals in order to prioritise spending time with his family. The famous person acknowledged that he had never been a person who aspired to be a great celebrity and that his work had never been what “fed his soul.” Instead, he found enjoyment in everyday tasks like spending time with his kids. The actor said, “I like the regular, routine things. It’s enough just getting my kids ready in the morning and getting them to activities and school. That nourishes my soul.
