In honour of Marvel Studios’ X-Men ’97’s debut next year, the X-Men have made a triumphant comeback to LEGO after an extended absence. The latest additions to LEGO’s Marvel-themed sets include a scale replica of the X-Jet, the iconic vehicle of the mutant superhero team that was a major part of the original X-Men animated series and will be making a comeback in Disney’s revival. With a total of 359 pieces, the set features four minifigures dressed in various TV show attire, including Rogue, Cyclops, Wolverine, and Magneto. The set is one of many new releases based on Marvel Studios properties that will be available at the start of 2024. Other releases include a War Machine mech suit set, a scale model of Rocket Raccoon and Baby Groot, a smaller model featuring Ronan, and the Spider-Man: No Way Home Final Battle set, which features the three live-action Spider-Men. A few kid-focused sets of Spider-Man-based unique designs are also in the works. Two examples are the Venom and Green Goblin racing set and the Doc Ock Motorcycle Chase set, both of which are intended for customers four years of age and above.

The new animated television series X-Men ’97 from Marvel Studios will see the squad of mutants make their biggest comeback in a popular series or movie in a long time. The fifth season of the original X-Men: The Animated Series ended abruptly in 1997; the current series is expected to take up where it left off, ending the cliffhanger and starting a brand-new plot. All of the original mutant cast members are back in the programme, including newcomers Nightcrawler and Sunspot, as well as Wolverine, Rogue, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Beast, and Professor X. All of the returning characters still use their original costumes and designs from the 1992 series. The programme, which will retain the traditional design aspects with brand-new 3D models reminiscent of Marvel’s What If…? series, also features a large number of the original voice cast returning. In the past, LEGO has also created goods for the programme, including a buildable Wolverine model kit and a line of blind bag minifigures that include some of the characters. But the mutants’ return to LEGO is fairly momentous because it’s the first time in years that they’ve been built together as a set, thanks to the new X-Jet kit. Commencing on January 1st, 2024, the LEGO X-Men ’97 X-Jet will retail for $84.99. Marvel has stated that X-Men ’97 will make its premiere sometime in 2019, although an official release date has not yet been set.
