Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds finally reunited in Shawn Levy’s Deadpool & Wolverine, and the much anticipated pairing was accompanied by other significant special guest appearances. Among them was Channing Tatum in the part of Gambit, which allowed the actor to fulfill a long-held dream role after the first Gambit movie was shelved due to development issues. Reynolds posted some pictures of Tatum as Gambit from the movie on Instagram. Reynolds talked on how hard Tatum worked to make his portrayal of the character as comic-accurate as possible for his Gambit movie. Following the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, Reynolds noted how well the public responded to Tatum’s Gambit and recommended that the actor stick to playing the role in Marvel films since it seemed like the people would like seeing it just as much as he did.

Reynolds remarked, “Chan was born to play the role of Gambit.” “His journey is comparable to mine on Deadpool in that Chan devoted ten years to bringing the most comic-true Gambit to the big screen. Because Remy LeBeau’s soul has been transplanted, he must face reality. There are certain characters that have a one in a billion chance of being together. In Chan, Gambit discovered his author. He’s one of the brightest, coolest, and most underutilized characters in comics. According to what I seen in cinemas, you too desire more.”

I want more — and from what I saw in theaters, you do too.

Reynolds went on. “It’s just as vital to have fresh characters to cheer for as it is to have the opportunity to say goodbye to some of these heroes. and it’s simple to support Gambit. It’s even simpler to support Chan. He’s among the best, most dedicated, and most compassionate persons in our field. I am overjoyed to witness Channing Tatum raise Gambit from the grave and bring him back to life in the ideal circumstance.” Tatum had previously been slated to lead a solo Gambit movie that took place in Fox’s X-Men film franchise. After a few years of stagnation and Disney’s 2019 acquisition, the project was formally abandoned. Following the announcement of his casting as Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine, Tatum also took to social media to express his feelings, posting pictures of himself beside Reynolds taken over ten years apart. Tatum is wearing the identical Gambit shirt in the ten-year old shot, demonstrating his lifelong love of the X-men character.
