After the Last Dance, Marvel is already laying the groundwork for Venom’s possible comeback.

In Sony’s world, Marvel has already arranged for Venom to return following The Last Dance. In order to prevent the main cosmic antagonist Knull the Symbiote God from being freed from his prison in space, Eddie Brock and his symbiote were split off through a crucial sacrifice, as seen in the last film in Sony’s Venom trilogy. Nonetheless, it appears like The Lethal Protector may possibly make a comeback in a few different ways. Venom and Eddie Brock, played by Tom Hardy, are seen to have a codex in Venom: The Last Dance. This is because of their shared relationship and life energy, which was formed when the symbiote saved Eddie from Riot’s deadly wounds at the conclusion of the first Venom film. The reason Knull sends his symbiote-hunting animals, known as xenophages, to pursue this codex is because it holds the secret to his liberation from the symbiote homeworld of Klyntar. There are a several ways that the titular symbiote can potentially come back and form a link with Eddie in the future, even though this is what drives Venom to give his life at the conclusion of The Last Dance.

Venom: The Last Dance made it apparent that the codex would be destroyed if either Venom or Eddie died. This is the reason Venom sacrifices himself at the conclusion of the film, not only to save Eddie but also to destroy the key that would allow Knull to be free. Nonetheless, Venom: The Last Dance’s opening and conclusion both demonstrate how Venom is most likely still alive. The component of the Venom symbiote that remained in the MCU as shown at the conclusion of Spider-Man: Now Way Home was never collected, even though it was discussed and depicted in The Last Dance. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that a little fragment of Venom is still present in Earth-616 and may one day return to Eddie. Similarly, the fragment of the Venom symbiote that Area 55’s Rex Strickland did manage to gather after surviving was shown crawling about the debris of the covert government facility in the post-credits sequence in Venom: The Last Dance. Consequently, it is easy to see one or both of these symbiote components someday re-forming as Eddie’s symbiote partner.

Additionally, a significant portion of Venom: The Last Dance is devoted to hinting at a possible future in which Eddie Brock becomes a parent. Venom and Eddie end up catching a ride with Martin Moon’s family, who assist him in getting to Las Vegas when they run into the hippy and alien believer (played by Rhys Ifans). As a result, Eddie develops many bonds with Martin’s kid Leaf. Eddie comforts the youngster when he expresses his worries about aliens, and when it is revealed that Eddie is an alien’s host, he finally helps the boy get over his anxieties. In The Last Dance, the Venom symbiote itself remarks that Eddie would be a fine father. In light of that, this could be a reference to Eddie Brock’s fatherhood status in the classic Marvel Comics, which was revealed just before Knull attacked Earth in the 2020 King in Black crossover event. In the Sony reality, Eddie someday having a son would also have some intriguing ramifications.

Anne Weying, Eddie’s ex-girlfriend, was Dylan Brock’s mother in the first Marvel Comics. Dylan is a major target for Knull himself, though, as both Eddie and Venom are officially Dylan’s father, which explains the boy’s remarkable strength and mastery over symbiotes that appeared during King in Black. Following Eddie and King in Black’s victory over the Symbiote God, Dylan Brock takes over as Venom’s new host, and Eddie becomes the new King in Black. Therefore, this may also be a potential future in Sony’s live-action universe. Dylan may become a new on-screen Lethal Protector, similar to how he has been on the page since 2021, if he were to appear in a future Sony production and develop a relationship with one of the parts of Venom. As actor Tom Hardy has repeatedly said in interviews and the film’s entire marketing campaign, this would enable Venom: The Last Dance to really represent the conclusion of Eddie and Venom’s journey. It would be possible to transfer the symbiotic reins to the following generation. It’s important to remember that Venom: The Last Dance does provide a substitute symbiote hero in case Sony chooses to simply leave Venom in their live-action realm. After all, Doctor Teddy Payne (Juno Temple) was one of the few people who survived the conflict between the symbiotes of Area 55 and the xenophages of Knull. Agony and Payne may emerge in future Sony products after bonding with the purple symbiote, which resembles Agony from the original comics. This is especially likely to happen if and when Knull breaks loose to engulf the universe in darkness.
