Kathryn Hahn, star of Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, just disclosed the date of the upcoming Disney+ series’ production finish. The actor disclosed in an interview that the reshoots for the programme are almost finished. “Yeah, we just need to pick up a few more days. Most of it is finished. It’s really thrilling,” Hahn said. The actor went on to express her enthusiasm for the WandaVision spinoff series, saying, “Anyone who likes a witch or is a Marvel fan laughs.I’m eager for others to see it. Anyone up for the role of witch? Every Halloween, it was all I ever played as a child.” May 2023 marked the end of principal photography for Agatha: Darkhold Diaries. The Marvel Cinematic Universe series’ ensemble and actors were said to be getting back together later that year for planned reshoots. However, it appears that Agatha’s scheduled reshoots have been pushed back until the beginning of 2024 because to the strikes by writers and performers that are delaying several movies.
Marvel Studios first revealed Agatha: Darkhold Diaries in November 2021, when it was still known as Agatha: House of Harkness. In Darkhold Diaries, Kahn plays Wanda Maximoff’s nosy neighbour and titular witch. In the WandaVision series finale, Wanda is trapped in her “Agnes” identity within Westview, New Jersey, by the Scarlet Witch. Darkhold Diaries picks off where WandaVision left off, with Agatha Harkness ultimately “breaking out of a spell she has been trapped in.” She is eager to return to her previous homicidal methods but discovers she is helpless. Her only option is to go out on a risky mission to regain her powers with the assistance of one or more unusual friends.”
These “unlikely friends”—Aubrey Plaza, Patti LuPone, and Sasheer Zamata—are anticipated to be members of Agatha’s coven. They will each be making their MCU debuts as Rio Vidal, Lilia Calderu, and Jennifer Kale. Furthermore, it has been stated that Joe Locke, who is now listed as “Teen,” is portraying Billy Kaplan, a well-known gay adolescent with a wicked sense of humour. Additionally, the character is an older version of Wanda and Vision’s son Billy Maximoff, who made his WandaVision debut. Marvel Studios revealed significant alterations to their release schedule in September 2023, delaying a number of highly anticipated Disney+ programmes, including Agatha. Disney announced in December of the same year that Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, along with a number of other highly awaited MCU programmes including X-Men ’97 and Echo, will debut on Disney+ in 2024.
