The most recent trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania provides us with an even greater glimpse of the Quantum Realm and its ambitious conquistador.
As ridiculous as Jonathan Majors’ Loki villain was, it has been challenging to picture how the actor could portray Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania director Peyton Reed. However, the most recent teaser for the film makes it very obvious that, despite the Avenger Kang’s somewhat silly fighting style, Kang will be all business as he attempts to shatter reality itself.
The latest teaser for Quantumania re-introduces the characters of Janet Van Dyne, Hope Van Dyne, and Scott Lang as they unintentionally enter the Quantum Realm along with Cassie (Kathryn Newton), Scott’s daughter. Janet initially exited the Quantum Realm in the second Ant-Man movie.
Janet appears to be alarmed in the trailer by the prospect of going back to the Quantum Realm and dealing with those who reside on the subatomic level of reality. Scott doesn’t fully realise that they are all facing an enemy that would typically require a team of superheroes to defeat until Kang the Conqueror fully shows himself and the extent of his might.
According to the few storyline points the teaser emphasises, Scott will have to choose whether or not to accept Kang’s offer to make up for the time he lost when trapped in the Quantum Realm prior to Avengers: Endgame.
However, based on the quick look of what appears to be a metallic, live-action M.O.D.O.K., the film is also likely to be one of the stranger entrants to the MCU when it arrives in theatres on February 17th and features a surprising amount of unexpected characters.
