Spread MCU News

Blurp, a new member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was just introduced in the most recent Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 teaser. The writer-director James Gunn has officially revealed the identity of the furry monster on Twitter after it makes a fleeting cameo in the teaser. Blurp’s function in the third Guardians of the Galaxy film was not further discussed by Gunn. Nevertheless, the creature is shown with Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and Gamora (Zoe Saldaa), suggesting a connection between the three. For the time being, any relationship between Quill, Gamora, and Blurp is just conjecture.

The new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 teaser has more noteworthy elements than just Blurp’s on-screen debut. The Super Bowl LVII trailer gives viewers their finest glimpse yet at the movie’s major antagonist, the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji). The relationships among the Guardians themselves also take centre stage, with a focus on how this upcoming mission will be their final one together. Several images in the teaser hint at the dangers our space-faring heroes may face this time around, including a confrontation with Adam Warlock, another newbie to the MCU (Will Poulter).

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 arrives in theaters on May 5, 2023.
