Marvel Studios is shaking things up in terms of directors and writers for their upcoming shows. While a director has not yet been announced for Avengers Secret Wars, Michael Waldron, who previously worked on Loki, was set to write the script. However, it appears that both Waldron and Jeff Loveness, known for his work on Ant-Man 3, are no longer attached to these projects. Rumors suggest that Sam Raimi, the director of the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man films and more recently Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, could be Marvel’s top choice to direct Avengers Secret Wars. Raimi has shown excitement about the possibility of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man returning, adding to the anticipation surrounding this potential collaboration.
In terms of the writers, Waldron and Loveness, who both have experience working on the popular show Rick and Morty, were initially chosen for their expertise in exploring the multiverse. This made them fitting choices for the multiverse-focused Avengers films. Interestingly, there are rumors that Kevin Feige is considering other Rick and Morty writers for future MCU projects, hinting at the potential for even more boundary-pushing storytelling and humor in the Marvel universe.
Moving on to Deadpool 3, there are reports suggesting that Battle World might feature in the film. Given the current state of the multiverse in the MCU, it would make sense for such a concept to be introduced. In the comics, Battle World was created by Dr. Doom after the collapse of the multiverse. However, in Deadpool 3, it is speculated that Magneto could be the one to create Battle World in a universe ruled by the X-Men, adding a unique twist to the storyline. There are even rumors of the original Fantastic Four actors, including Jessica Alba and Chris Evans, potentially making a return in this film, which could also involve the old version of Doctor Doom portrayed by Julian McMahon. This hints at the possibility of a multiverse-spanning epic that could reshape the future of the Marvel universe.
