In honour of the premiere of the newest movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Brie Larson, star of The Marvels, has posted brand-new behind-the-scenes images to her social media accounts. Oscar winner Larson, who starred in Room, posted fresh behind-the-scenes pictures of herself and her co-stars on The Marvels set earlier this week on Instagram. In addition to a photograph she shot with director Nia DaCosta and co-stars Iman Vellani and Teyonah Parris, Larson also posted photos of herself with the movie’s antagonist, Zawe Ashton. Ashton portrays Dar-Benn, a Kree warrior who is out to destroy Captain Marvel for her part in the global devastation and bring back her home planet. Some of the behind-the-scenes pictures feature her with makeup and costume designers, and Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani are seen making a funny stance together on the set of the next movie, which was taken by Larson.

Iman Vellani, who was prominently featured in Larson’s Instagram post, also talked about her behind-the-scenes experiences filming The Marvels. In a recent interview, she talked about her first encounter with Samuel L. Jackson. Being an avid comic book and MCU fan, Vellani stated she “was so in a state of utter shock that he exists beyond a 16:9 frame.” Observing him in person and being struck by his height, swagger, and legs was an odd experience. It was so strange. Vellani said, “When he came onto the set for the first time, he said hi to everyone and shook their hands, and I hid behind Nia, our director,” to further detail Jackson’s first visit to the movie set. I was freaking out too much. She was thus grappling with me in an attempt to bring me in front of her.” Vellani has nothing but admiration for her co-star in the MCU. She claimed that Samuel L. Jackson offered her “the biggest bear hug that I’ve ever experienced in my life,” which eased her anxiety before meeting a legendary figure in the Marvel universe. It was really cosy and kind. After that, I was quite good, although you’ll notice that I spoke a lot less when I’m with Sam in all of the sequences. I just said, “I’m being cautious.” I don’t want to interfere in any way with this man’s procedure. However, he likes Nick Fury so much and is a pleasure to work with. It was fantastic.”
