Dafne Keen will allegedly reprise her role as X23 in Deadpool 3 according to Marvel Studios. Sources have revealed that “Marvel went into negotiations with Dafne Keen right before the strikes started to bring her back as a grown-up Laura Kinney,” a.k.a. X23, in the impending threequel, according to reliable scooper CanWeGetSomeToast. They were prepared for the strikes and are expecting that the timetables would align once the studios start paying writers and performers decently. Which is consistent with Shawn Levy’s assertion that production on Deadpool 3 was midway through. Expect it to be more of a cameo than a substantial role, the scooper continued. Hugh Jackman (Logan/Wolverine) and Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier/Professor X) were her co-stars in the 2017 X-Men movie Logan, in which Keen played Laura Kinney/X-23. Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart both acted in the movie. The actor was formerly supposed to reprise his role as X23 in a stand-alone movie, but once Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, those plans were shelved.
Since Logan, Keen has portrayed Lyra Belacqua, the main heroine, in the BBC One and HBO adaptation of Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials, Ana “Ani” Cruz Oliver, a supporting role, in the 2015 series The Refugees, and Ana, the protagonist character, in the 2020 feature Ana. Additionally, she will appear in the upcoming Star Wars television series The Acolyte, which is set near the close of the High Republic period.
Since 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth and Hugh Jackman’s Weapon X haven’t appeared in a movie together. However, that will change with the release of Deadpool 3. Shawn Levy takes over as the film’s director, replacing Tim Miller (Deadpool) and David Leitch (Deadpool 2). Deadpool 3 has recently been referred to by Levy as “raw, audacious, and very much R-rated.” Reynolds and Jackman have stated that time travel would be employed in their movie, while the specifics of the narrative are yet unknown. The universe is said to be a major theme in the threequel, and there are several scene-stealing appearances, according to many rumours. Levy now only has a role in Deadpool 3, but if a fresh rumour turns out to be accurate, that may change.
