Charlie Cox is eager to elevate Daredevil’s presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), with his sights set on major upcoming films like “Avengers: Secret Wars” or “Avengers: Doomsday.” As fans anticipate the release of “Daredevil: Born Again,” Cox has expressed a keen interest in seeing his character, Matt Murdock, don the iconic red suit in these high-stakes Avengers movies. The return of the Russo brothers to direct and the recasting of Robert Downey Jr. as the villainous Doctor Doom have sparked speculation that Daredevil could soon join the ranks of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Cox believes that the timing has never been better for such a significant upgrade for his character.
In a recent interview, Cox shared his enthusiasm for the possibility of Daredevil becoming an Avenger. “I think it’s more possible than it’s ever been, yeah,” he said. “I would love to be in one of the Avengers films, or another Spider-Man, or something like that. For a couple of reasons. One, because over the years I have become a geeky fan of the character, and I weirdly, for the character’s sake, feel like it’d be really cool for him to get that kind of upgrade.” Cox’s passion for the character and the potential for Daredevil to play a larger role in the MCU is evident. Additionally, Cox acknowledges that such a prominent role would not only be a dream come true for him as a fan but also a significant boost for his career in Hollywood.
Interestingly, rumors about Daredevil’s involvement in “Avengers: Doomsday” predate Cox’s recent comments. Industry insiders had previously suggested that both Daredevil and Kingpin were slated to appear in the upcoming “Spider-Man 4” when it was initially planned as a street-level story. However, with the MCU’s shift towards multiversal themes and the introduction of Doctor Doom, the studio has adjusted its focus. As Marvel continues to expand its universe and make bold moves, it seems increasingly likely that Daredevil will step into the spotlight alongside the Avengers. With “Daredevil: Born Again” on the horizon, fans can only hope that Cox’s wish to see his character suit up in an Avengers film will soon become a reality.
