Chris Hemsworth’s MCU ride: The silly side of ‘Love and Thunder

Spread MCU News

Chris Hemsworth recently explored his career in an interview with GQ Magazine, opening up about his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and in particular, “Thor: Love and Thunder.” The Australian actor, who has played the God of Thunder for more than ten years, offered his assessment of the most recent episode and noted that it was different from his usual tone. Hemsworth described “Love and Thunder” as “too silly and goofy,” admitting that while it was fun to work on, it was difficult to go further into the character and plot due to the emphasis on humour. This idea emphasizes how dynamic and always changing the Thor series is within the MCU.

Hemsworth picked out “Thor: Ragnarok” as his favourite Thor movie, highlighting its distinctive and noteworthy features, demonstrating his affection for the movie. But when asked which book in the series was his least favourite, he named “Love and Thunder.” He went on to explain how, more so than in any previous MCU movie, the film’s persistent humour overwhelmed any attempts at a more sombre story. His viewpoint is in line with that of many viewers who regarded the movie’s tone swings and lack of character development to be divisive, despite the fact that individual viewpoints may differ.

It’s still unclear how “Thor: Love and Thunder” will affect the direction the Thor character takes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The absence of any mentions to Thor in later works suggests that the character’s storyline may be changing. Fans will anxiously anticipate Thor’s next adventure as the MCU develops and pursues new narrative trajectories, hoping for a return to the balance and complexity that made the character a cherished cornerstone of the series.
