Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be upset to find that Ben Affleck won’t be reprising his role as Daredevil in “DEADPOOL 3,” despite the actor having been photographed on location. When images of Affleck on the movie set surfaced, rumors were widespread that the actor may be making a surprise comeback as the blind superhero lawyer. The movie’s producers, however, have subsequently verified that Affleck’s appearance on set was totally accidental and unconnected to any prospective cameo. Fans had hoped for a cross-over between Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Ben Affleck’s Daredevil, but it seems that this crossover will have to remain an idle goal.
Due to the MCU’s ongoing evolution and the goal to preserve a distinct separation between the many Marvel properties, it was decided not to cast Ben Affleck as Daredevil in “DEADPOOL 3.” In a stand-alone picture that was released in 2003 and took place outside of the current Marvel Cinematic Universe storyline, Affleck played Daredevil. With Marvel Studios now in charge of a large and intricate network of superhero tales, they appear to be concentrating on introducing new interpretations and characters. Although this announcement may upset some fans, it opens the door for intriguing new stories and unforeseen crossovers in the ever-growing Marvel world.
