Donald Glover believes that a live-action Miles Morales/Spider-Man film will be produced and that he may be recast as Prowler by Sony. Glover stated in an interview that Sony was “not even thinking about” casting him because of his age. The actor then expressed his belief that there would someday be a live-action Miles Morales/Spider-Man movie, saying that Glover would most likely play Prowler/Aaron Davis for Sony.

As Glover put it, “I don’t think they even thought about it.” “A Miles Morales live-action film is undoubtedly in the works, and I believe their main worry is that I will play Prowler or something like. I’m currently too old to be Spider-Man.

Glover most recently made a much anticipated appearance in the animated movie Across the Spider-Verse, showing up for a brief scene that blended live-action and animation. Miles Morales discovers Glover’s doppelgänger Prowler is in jail as he is exploring the Spider-Society in the scenario. The actor, comedian, and singer has a lengthy history of being connected to Miles Morales/Spider-Man; this scene is only the most recent example. With the #DonaldforSpiderman campaign, Glover and supporters started an internet effort in 2010 to gain him an audition for Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man. Although Glover voiced Miles in the animated Ultimate Spider-Man series, Andrew Garfield ultimately won the part. Glover also made appearances in the MCU as Miles Morales’ uncle Aaron in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023). Co-creator of Miles Brian Michael Bendis said that the moment in Community where Glover wears Spider-Man pyjamas served as inspiration for him in part. Bendis said, “He looked terrific! I thought, “I would like to read that book,” as soon as I saw him dressed as a clown. Thus, I felt happy that book was being written.”
