A new deleted scene from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been published by Marvel Studios, and it stars Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax, and Pom Klementieff as Mantis. The video, titled “Drax’s Analogies and Metaphors,” is an expanded version of the comparison Drax uses with Star-Lord about a lilypad. The expanded sequence had the humorous section last a little longer, much to Mantis’ dismay, since the theatrical version of the movie merely had Bautista’s fan-favorite character reciting a few examples to show to Star-Lord that he knows what an analogy and metaphor are.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe threequel is coming to digital on July 7 and home video on August 1, giving fans the chance to view the second movie again as part of the franchise’s Phase 5 after a strong box office run (Volume 3 has just over $830 million globally). One of the eight deleted sequences that will be included as supplementary content on the internet and home media versions is “Drax’s Analogies and Metaphors”. Additionally, two featurettes, “The Imperfect, Perfect Family” and “Creating Rocket Raccoon,” will be made available. These will explore the development of the Guardians throughout the trilogy and, separately, demonstrate how writer/director James Gunn gave Rocket (Bradley Cooper) life.
While a fourth Guardians film has not yet been confirmed by Marvel Studios, Volume 3 did have a fresh lineup for the cosmic gang that included Rocket, Groot, Adam Warlock, Kraglin, Cosmo, and Phyla. However, Marvel did announce that “the legendary Star-Lord” will appear in more MCU productions beyond the Volume 3 credits. Gunn’s exclusive agreement with DC Studios, which started as soon as Volume 3 was released, would prevent him from writing and directing the fourth Guardians, should Marvel decide to press through with it.
According to the official movie synopsis, “in Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, our beloved band of misfits is looking a bit different these days.” “To defend the universe and keep Rocket safe, Peter Quill (Pratt), who is still in shock from a horrible defeat, must gather his squad and go out on a perilous, action-packed mission. In the meantime, a brand-new, erratic force poses a danger to permanently destroy the Guardians. Along with the aforementioned actors, the movie also stars Vin Diesel as Groot, Chukwudi Iwuji as the High Evolutionary, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Maria Bakalova as Cosmo the Spacedog, and Will Poulter as Adam Warlock. Zoe Saldana plays Gamora in the movie.
