Echo writer hints at the endless storytelling opportunities of additional seasons

It’s possible that Echo will have a second season. The most viewed series premiere on both Disney+ and Hulu was Echo, which debuted recently on both streaming services. Unlike the previous Marvel programmes onDisney+, which were published weekly, this five-episode season was released all at once. Though co-head writer Amy Rardin stated in an interview that she hopes for a renewal given the “unlimited storytelling possibilities with Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio),” it is unclear if Echo will continue as a limited series or receive a Season 2 order. “I feel like if we’re lucky enough to have a Season 2, I think I could watch the Maya-Kingpin show all day,” Rardin stated. “I think there are countless storytelling opportunities there since she and him aren’t done with each other. Gosh, I regret it. The remarkable thing about these two personalities, in my opinion, is how well-known they are to one another. Maya has a lot of control over Fisk because, in my opinion, she knows that he loves her, which is a powerful feeling, and because she probably knows him better than most others. Therefore, I believe it may be incredibly entertaining to watch these two emotionally charged chess players exploit one another.”

It will take time to determine whether a Season 2 is produced, but it’s feasible given the success of previous MCU series onDisney+, such Loki, I Am Groot, and What If…? Echo’s titular character may still make an appearance in other MCU shows even if the show is not renewed. Given his past with Maya, there’s a significant potential that fans may witness an Echo reunion in the upcoming series Daredevil: Born Again, which stars D’Onofrio as Kingpin. Sydney Freeland was the main director of Echo, while the lead writers were Rardin and Marion Dayre. Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Zahn McClarnon, Cody Lightning, and Grahame Greene are among the other cast members of the programme. Despite being brief, Charlie Cox reprises his role as Daredevil in a fight scene with Maya Lopez because the creative team felt it was essential to the character’s portrayal.
