Emperor Drogge of the Secret Invasion: an explanation

Spread MCU News

Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson, gets into a tough situation in Secret Invasion Episode 2. After the attack in Moscow, he realised how severe Gravik’s danger is. And what’s even more scary is that he is unable to summon The Avengers to serve as a leveller. Fortunately, he has Talos to assist him, but Fury can see that the odds are stacked against them. But while they debate future plans, an important allusion to Emperor Drogge is made. Fans of the Secret Invasion comics should take note of this, as it may explain why the Disney+ series will include a lot more murder and devastation in the future.

Following the death of Maria Hill, Talos secretly escapes with a furious Fury aboard a Russian train. Fury is irritated that he didn’t prepare for the millions of Skrulls who were coming over as he inquires about their growing numbers. According to Talos, a great number of refugees came sneaking across to Earth when Skrullos, the Skrulls’ home planet, crumbled due to an invasion by the Kree. Talos acknowledges that the only people who didn’t slip across belonged to a colony headed by a man by the name of Emperor Drogge as Fury pressures him for all the information. When Talos mentions Drogge’s name and makes the joke that this guy is a villain, he doesn’t appear too pleased. Sadly, nothing further is revealed about the enigmatic figure.

Fans are wondering if Drogge’s colony has been sending people across to assist Gravik in capturing Earth. They could desire to be among the other members of their species, and by aiding Gravik, they might be able to create a paradise where they can all live in harmony. Hopefully, more information will be provided in the upcoming episodes, but if the programme stays true to the literature, danger is in store.

Emperor Drogge does not featured in the comics, although Dro’ge Fenu Edu was a High Priest in Queen Veranke’s Skrull kingdom who participated in scientific research. One of the most intelligent shape-shifters in the empire, this one made his debut in 2008. For the cause of his king, he perfected engineering and controlled genetics. He’s basically the Reed Richards of the Skrulls. It’s ironic because Dro’ge imprisoned and experimented on a few members of The Illuminati when they sneaked up on them to fight against them before the heroes fled. He gained knowledge of their memories and the genetic makeup of numerous heroes and villains as a result. Dro’ge was able to develop more potent Super-Skrulls and update the Warskrull programme as a result. When the Skrull armada came on Earth, it caused havoc since these creatures possessed the abilities of Asgardians, mutants, and Avengers.

Now, Drogge from this series may proceed in the same manner, but he might be working for Gravik rather than a queen. The latter has stated his intention to eradicate mankind, which is why he is collaborating with Dalton, a scientist on Earth, to strengthen and empower Skrulls. G’iah discovered proof that the Skrulls are using a Frost Beast, Extremis, and Cull Obsidian. Furthermore, Gravik was seen in trailers imitating Groot’s abilities. Therefore, it’s possible that Dalton is actually using Dro’ge’s research from his colony, much as Dro’ge did in the novels when he upgraded his project by using Granok’s data. In the end, remixing the character in this way would make sense in terms of the comics and provide Gravik the ideal army for this purge.
