Exclusive confirmation: Brad Pitt’s lost chance as Cable in Deadpool revealed by Rob Liefeld

Spread MCU News

According to recent reports, Marvel fans almost saw Brad Pitt playing the role of Cable, Deadpool’s frenemy, in the upcoming movie Deadpool 3. Although fans are eagerly scouring the internet for any set photos, they are not aware of what could have been if Brad Pitt had indeed played the role. Josh Brolin played the role of Cable in the previous movie, Deadpool 2, and was introduced as a frequent Cable ally Domino (Zazie Beetz).

In the movie, Brad Pitt made a cameo appearance as Vanisher, one of the ill-fated members of X-Force. However, as the creator of Deadpool, Rob Liefeld, reveals, Pitt was almost cast as Cable as well. In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Liefeld revealed that he knew for a fact that Pitt was going to play the role of Cable, and the previews were already done. Liefeld also revealed that David Leitch had a special relationship doing stunt work with Pitt, which made the casting a possibility.

However, as the production team went into a different direction, several other actors were considered for the role of Cable. Liefeld further revealed that Josh Brolin’s wife had to convince him to read for the Cable role, and he eventually agreed to try out for the part. Had Brolin not agreed, another actor would have been on screen alongside Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.

It is not uncommon for actors to miss out on roles due to various reasons, and Brad Pitt missing out on the role of Cable is just another example of how casting can change in a movie production. Nevertheless, fans are excited to see what the future holds for Cable in the upcoming movie Deadpool 3.
