Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, House of Gucci) may be in the running to portray Reed Richards or Doctor Doom in Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four revival, according to industry insider Jeff Sneider, who made the statement late last year.
Despite the fact that Sneider added that he thought Richards was more probable, a number of sources now say that Driver has emerged as the leader for the role.
Driver is “a front-runner for a specific stretchy role,” according to Grace Randolph of Beyond the Trailer, and The Direct has also heard this. Although neither source has a reputation for being very trustworthy, both have occasionally had scoops come true.
Driver and two other actors are reportedly competing right now. We don’t sure who they may be, although Penn Badgley from You and Andor’s Diego Luna have both been mentioned as potential candidates.
Since casting has apparently been going on for some time, we could soon learn if this story is true or not. Who may be in line to portray The Human Torch, Invisible Woman, or The Thing is yet unknown to us.
The project has added Matt Shakman as the director, and the script is now being written by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer. Although the plot’s specifics are yet unknown, Kevin Feige has stated that this won’t be another super-team origin narrative.
“A lot of people know this origin story. A lot of people know the basics. How do we take that and bring something that they’ve never seen before?”He compared this new interpretation of the characters to Marvel Studios’ agreement with Sony to include Spider-Man in the MCU in a recent interview.“We’ve set a very high bar for ourselves with bringing that to the screen.”
