After receiving a guilty judgement, Jonathan Majors was beaming at his first film business event. Jonathan Majors was enjoying a career high at this time last year, playing the lead in high-profile films like Creed 3 and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. But Majors was detained in March 2023 on suspicion of assaulting his fiancée at the time, and he was later put on trial for the accusations of harassment and assault. Majors was subsequently found guilty, which led to the termination of his MCU character Kang. In addition, the actor lost their roles in a number of other projects. Nevertheless, it appears he hasn’t been totally banned in Hollywood, according to Deadline. The 7th Annual African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) Special Achievement Awards luncheon was reportedly attended by Jonathan Majors. Majors walked the red carpet at the invitation-only event, which took place at the Centennial Room of the L.A. Athletic Club, with his girlfriend Meagan Good at his side. Majors was grinning broadly in pictures shot at the ceremony, despite his recent legal issues and the loss of numerous significant assignments. Majors was previously recognised as a member of the ensemble cast of The Harder They Fall in 2022 at the AAFCA awards.

The popular film Killers of the Flower Moon, directed by Martin Scorsese, was honoured with the Stanley & Karen Kramer Social Justice Award during the luncheon for its examination of the actual events behind the Osage Nation killings. The Producers Award was given to Jamie Foxx and Datari Turner of Foxxhole Productions in recognition of their successful projects, which include They Cloned Tyrone, Story Ave, and The Burial. The Salute to Excellence Award was given to choreographer Fatima Robinson in recognition of her efforts on films such as The Colour Purple. Deon Taylor, who received the Horizon Award, highlighting a bright young talent, was one of the other recipients. In light of the guilty conviction, Jonathan Majors is presently awaiting sentence to learn the extent of his penalty. The good news for the troubled actor is that, because he was found guilty of misdemeanour counts and is a first-time offender, legal experts estimate he won’t serve any jail time. In addition, he has stated that he would be appealing the conviction; however, it is unclear if this will be successful or if the guilty decision will stand. Majors is no longer a part of the MCU, however. Although it has been rumoured that the antagonist may be recast with a different actor, the destiny of his Kang character remains uncertain. It was anticipated that Majors would play a significant part as Kang in the planned sequel Avengers: The Kang Dynasty before he was fired. We now expect a new title for the film.
