The Marvel Cinematic Universe is alive and well, and the latest news out of the studio concerns the highly anticipated Disney+ reboot of Daredevil. Lead actor Charlie Cox, who is reprising his role as Matt Murdock, has been working hard in the gym to get in shape for the upcoming series. But he’s not alone, as co-star Vincent D’Onofrio has also been hitting the gym in preparation for his return as Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin.
Trainer Naqam Washington recently shared exclusive images of Cox and D’Onofrio in the gym to the #WeSavedDaredevil Twitter account. The images showed the actors working hard, and Cox has even been undergoing MMA training to prepare for the action scenes in Daredevil: Born Again.
According to Cox’s trainer Chris Fields, the actor has been eager to train like a fighter in preparation for his role. Fields was hesitant at first, as his expertise is coaching fighters, but he quickly realized that Cox had the same work ethic and willingness to learn as an elite fighter.
D’Onofrio’s gym photos suggest that Kingpin will not just be a crime boss behind a desk in Daredevil: Born Again. Instead, it seems that the actor will be getting in on the action and participating in some memorable fights.
With filming on the series yet to begin, it’s unclear whether the actors are still in pre-production or if they’ve begun shooting. However, with the show expected to premiere in Spring 2024, fans won’t have too long to wait to see the results of the actors’ hard work.
It’s exciting to see that Daredevil: Born Again is shaping up to be an action-packed series with two lead actors who are willing to put in the effort to deliver their best performances. Cox and D’Onofrio’s dedication to their roles bodes well for the quality of the show, and fans are sure to be eagerly anticipating its release.
