Future under Kang’s control is teased in Loki’s unsettling season 2 trailer

Another multiversal adventure is promised in the Loki Season 2 debut trailer, but this time the stakes are considerably higher. The Time Variance Authority appears to be nothing more than a creation of the villainous Kang the Conqueror, according to the official teaser, which features Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief glitching in and out of time. Loki will once more need to cooperate with Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) and Ke Huy Quan’s Ouroboros in order to complete his mission. All of the returning characters, including Kang (Jonathan Majors) as a golden mural and Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), Casey (Eugene Cordero), and Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), make cameos. The character Nathanial Richards, a different variation of Kang, also appears.

While information on Loki Season 2’s story is still lacking, the first chapter ended on a significant cliffhanger that establishes the subsequent arc. Loki is sent back in time to a reality where he had never heard of the TVA after failing to stop Sylvie from killing He Who Remains, the protector of the multiverse. He attempts to convince them that a huge threat is approaching to shatter their world, but while he does so, he realises that Kang is already in charge, laying the setup for the next significant antagonist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

On his most recent travels for Season 2, Loki will be accompanied by a variety of fresh people. Kate Dickie, who is most known for her part in Game of Thrones, will play an enemy, while Quan, who just received a most Supporting Actor nod for his work in Everything Everywhere All at Once, was cast in an unnamed character. According to rumours, Quan will portray a figure named “Oroborus,” or “O-B,” who is in command of technology at the TVA. Marvel has not yet revealed the specifics of his look. The ouroboros, a snake devouring its own tail in mythology, is a representation of the never-ending cycle of life, death, and rebirth. Directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who previously helmed Moon Knight, have only provided a few hints about what viewers may anticipate from Loki Season 2. They have compared the show to Moon Knight. The main issue with Loki, in my opinion, is that it is similar to Moon Knight in that there is just no purpose to make something if it isn’t going to be brand-new and original, according to Moorhead. So now that the gloves are off, we can pretty much do whatever we want.
