Actor Genneya Walton of Candy Cane Lane will now officially be a part of Marvel Studios’ eagerly awaited Daredevil: Born Again series. Daredevil: Born Again stars Walton opposite Charlie Cox as a series regular, according to sources. She is supposedly portraying a teenage journalist with “connections to a character from the original Netflix series.” After prior performances in 911, The Resident, BlackAF, and Never Have I Ever Season 4, this is Walton’s first high-profile TV endeavour as a series regular. Her most recent role was in the holiday comedy Candy Cane Lane on Prime Video, where she played the daughter of Eddie Murphy and Tracee Ellis Ross. After being put on hold for many months owing to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, production on Daredevil: Born Again has already started up again in New York City. Following a significant creative rewrite for the revived series, Marvel Studios fired original head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman from the group. Next, Dario Scardapane of The Punisher was called in to take over as showrunner for the Disney+ project. The new principal directors are Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who directed Moon Knight and Loki Season 2.

Apart from Cox’s comeback as the vigilante named Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio will be reprising his legendary role as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in Daredevil: Born Again. In the series, the beloved hero will take on two additional antagonists in addition to Kingpin. Among them is Wilson Bethel’s character Bullseye/Benjamin Poindexter from Daredevil Season 3, who assumed the identity of Daredevil. Fans got to have a sneak peek at Bullseye’s MCU debut thanks to a fresh collection of set images. Born Again will feature Muse, a comic book serial murderer and graffiti artist, as another villain. The actor selected to portray the menacing antagonist is still a mystery. Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll are finally joining Cox again in the MCU to reprise their respective roles as Foggy Nelson and Karen Page in Daredevil: Born Again, which is more than five years after the original Netflix series concluded its three-season run. The three are supposed to start their own legal practice in the resurrection, carrying out their original plan from the Daredevil Season 3 conclusion. Margarita Levieva, who plays Matt Murdock’s latest love interest, is joining Michael Gandolfini, Nikki M. James, Michael Gaston, Arty Froushan, and Sandrine Holt in the programme. Although the narrative of Daredevil: Born Again is still being kept under wraps, there have been rumours recently circulating that the programme could have links to Netflix’s The Punisher series. Given that Marvel Studios is now taking action to recognise earlier Netflix Marvel series as canon, this is hardly shocking. Born Again, starring Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, was supposed to be Bernthal’s MCU debut before the creative change. It’s unknown if Bernthal’s presence would still be a part of the show’s new creative vision.
