It all started with Rocket, the foul-mouthed and sharp-witted raccoon. His first words were “hurts,” and he’s been causing trouble ever since. But now, Rocket and his friends have become the guardians of the galaxy, protecting intergalactic refugees on the safe haven of Knowhere.
Peter Quill, also known as Star-Lord, is still pining for his lost love, Gamora. She’s now leading the Ravagers, a group of space pirates. But Peter’s not the only one with romantic troubles. The Sovereigns create Adam Warlock, a powerful being who ends up wiping them out in a temper tantrum.
Warlock attacks Knowhere, and the Guardians find themselves in a fight for their lives. Meanwhile, the High Evolutionary captures Rocket and takes him to Counter-Earth, a world where the inhabitants live under his tyranny.
Desperate to rescue their friend, the Guardians recruit Gamora to help them. Together, they set out to save Rocket and take down the High Evolutionary. Along the way, they face tough challenges and heartbreaking losses.
Drax, the team’s muscle-bound warrior, dies during the final battle. Star-Lord realizes that Gamora is no longer the woman he loves and must let her go. But despite the pain and heartache, the Guardians keep fighting.
Warlock, initially an enemy, joins the team after bonding with Mantis, a powerful empath. Together, they defeat the High Evolutionary and save the people of Counter-Earth.
In the end, the team is forever changed. Gamora, Rocket, and Groot go their separate ways, but Star-Lord, Nebula, Mantis, Cosmo, and Warlock continue to guard the galaxy. They’ve learned that even in the darkest of times, there’s always hope. And as long as there are guardians willing to fight for what’s right, the galaxy will remain a safer place for all.
