How long does Vincent D’Onofrio want to play Kingpin in the MCU?

Star of Echo, Vincent D’Onofrio, has revealed that nothing will stop him from portraying Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a very long time now that he is not required to gain weight for the part. The actor stated in an interview that the only thing that could have prevented me would have been if I had to just keep gaining weight. I’m in the greatest form I’ve been in a long time because I don’t have to do it anymore. D’Onofrio would put on weight for Netflix’s Daredevil to become Kingpin, but starting with Hawkeye, the actor has donned muscle suits underneath his clothes to help him bulk up as the scary figure. “I love these new kinds of ways that they actually construct the muscle fat suits that I have to wear,” he said, praising the “muscle fat suits” that Marvel Studios made for his comeback as Kingpin in Hawkeye and Echo. They seem to be functional at last, feel wonderful, and look nice. That is really beneficial since constantly gaining and losing weight is not the healthiest thing in the world. I mean, it’s so much fun that I can’t imagine not playing this part, so long as the powers that be will have me.”

The epilogue of Echo alludes to Kingpin’s potential bid for mayor of New York City, a role that would presumably be played by actor Daredevil: Born Again. Production on the eagerly awaited Disney+ series started on January 22 after a significant creative change late in the previous year. Born Again was given a showrunner in Dario Scardapane (The Punisher), and the remaining episodes of Season 1 were directed by the filmmaking team of Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (Loki, Moon Knight). The new Born Again will have a tone more akin to the Netflix series, which was formally added to the MCU canon as a result of the creative reworking. The first Born Again was supposedly more of a judicial procedural.

Additionally, D’Onofrio recently talked about the potential to feature in Avengers: Secret Wars or Spider-Man 4. He said that although he was open to it, Marvel Studios has not yet gotten in touch with him regarding a role in either film. “I believe that will occur if the ruling class desires it to, you know? Regarding taking on Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, the actor remarked, “I think there certainly hasn’t been any kind of talk that it’s not gonna happen.” “Well, it seems like the right course for us to take, but who knows? You know, sometimes you get calls saying, “Oh, we’re doing this now.” I’m thinking, “Oh, right.” That’s how it is, you know.” D’Onofrio said of Secret Wars that he thought Echo demonstrated to viewers that Kingpin’s influence has expanded beyond of New York. He said that his company’s arteries are now spreading throughout the nation and, eventually, the globe, rather than merely focusing on Hell’s Kitchen and certain goods arriving at Manhattan’s ports. Thus, it seems to me that he is everywhere. That, I believe, is how I perceive it. Vanessa and him seem like very powerful people to me.”
